Mini Meal Plan

Common Design Issues:
Many visuals including signage fail because they don’t grab attention or clearly explain what they’re about. Common problems include too much text, weak visual flow, confusing icons, or unclear calls to action. If viewers can’t understand the message quickly, they move on. According to IACET, The average human attention span has been stated to be around 8 seconds, therefore it is essential to create eye-catching visuals.

Design Solutions:
I wanted to keep it simple and focused. I use bold headlines "MINI MEAL PLAN", clean spacing, and one strong image to draw the eye , while maintaining balance. I stuck with short, clear text and used familiar food icons in placement of bulletin points . For instance, "ORDER WITH GRUBHUB" has been emphasized by adding a red shape to create contrast with the white text and background, therefore it’s obvious what the viewer should do next, like “Order with Grubhub.” The layout was kept simple and direct to reduce visual overload and make the message easy to scan at a glance, which is crucial for students on campus preferring convenience.
